Daniel Jacobs worked diligently to put himself in good positions in his fight with GGG. He did this with small things, fundamentals, or even basics if you dare. Of course that takes a ton of heart and composure to even try.
“Congrats to Floyd on a well fought match. Very experienced and methodical in his work. I wish him well in retirement. He is a heck of a boxer. His experience, his patience and his endurance won him this fight hands down. I always told him he was not a fighter but a boxer. But sharing the ring with him he is certainly a solid fighter. Strong in the clinch. Great understanding of frames and head position. He has some very strong tools he could bring into an MMA game for sure.”
Conor Mcgregor came into his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather already featuring a great glove control game. If people weren’t willfully ignorant they would have appreciated the high level the fight was fought at. The same techniques not found in the boxing manual that you see in a legendary fight like Rumble In The Jungle was also used skillfully by Mayweather and Mcgregor in their historic fight. Yes I said it! Ali vs Foreman was comparable to Mayweather vs McGregor in many ways.
When I watched Doumbe vs Holzken I saw this athlete doing so many things I was always told you can’t do in Kickboxing/Muay Thai like moving. So this highlight is a technical highlight and an ode to Doumbe’s outside the box approach. Also a huge salute to Eddie Abasolo, Diego Llamas, and Coach Kirian Fitzgibbons at CSA Gym.

Can Conor McGregor resist the urge to dumb down his ability to think vs Mayweather. There has been so much ignorant talk online by fans, media, and sadly enough boxers/coaches about this fight. McGregor and his team could be in this fight in regards to scoring if they just take their time. Attacking Mayweather’s Jab, not smothering himself, always throwing one extra punch in combinations, and overall being patient no matter what should be their game plan. Everything and anything else is simply not smart and a repeat of 49 other competitions.
My training system A Million Styles Boxing and me Coach Barry Robinson have been in this business 10-12 years I dont remember because its been an International blur. I have worked with 1000+ different athletes ranging from beginners to World Champs, coaches and fitness enthusiast alike.
People sometimes irritate me because they have no idea what I’m about or what my system is about resorting to gossip and things that have nothing to do with contributing to Martial Arts on an intellectual level.
A Million Styles boxing has never been about making friends or lying to people with bullshit marketing schemes like selling the technique of the month. So we’ve made a few enimies. However we’ve also attracted like minded thinkers to us and that’s who we prefer to continually connect with going forward.
